Weekend Project

I did it! Finally, three-and-a-half years after moving in, I finally finished painting the last room in our house. Woohoo!

This kitchen used to be some aweful green colour probably called something like "Celery" or "Mint" - yuck.
Growing up, we always had yellow kitchens - and we lived in a lot of houses! - and they were always the centre of the house. (Lots of food-centric memories!) So now that my kitchen is properly yellow, I'm a very happy camper.

I have to say my favourite thing is that big piece of art on the wall. It's of my absolute favourite coffee shop in our old 'hood in Roncesvalles, Cherry Bomb. And yes, it definately is the bomb.

New Cushions by Sarah Smile!

These beautiful new cushions just arrived at Relish yesterday. You might remember those lovely felted cushions that were in the shop earlier this summer? Well, if possible, these new ones by Sarah Smile Design are even cooler!

A beautiful vintage floral, a handsome peacock, and some great typographic styles as well...

I think my favourite is this "happily ever after" one. Sigh....

And don't worry about all that construction happening out side the shop - I'm still open! (And I think they'll be done by tomorrow - fingers crossed. xxx)

Food, Glorious Food.....

Since Sunday is usually the only day Ilya and I are actually both at home for dinner, we tend to go a bit overboard when we make dinner. Take last weekend for example...

How could you not be excited about this dinner?

While consuming afternoon cocktails, we generally prepare a ridiculously huge feast and then settle in to enjoy dinner and movie-watching with Bertha and Atticus. In this case we were drinking ceasar's while cooking a feast of grilled salmon, grilled shrimp, grilled asparagus and a huge salad.

As you can see Bertha and Atticus are very excited that we're having fish for dinner!
