3 Days Left - The Countdown Is On!
Counting down Relish's last three days!
That's right, Relish is open today, Saturday and Sunday, and then that's it. (Of course we'll still be online on our website and on our Etsy shop.)
We've still got huge sales on our remaining inventory, and there are still some stunning pieces left...

This adorable antique dresser has been marked down to $80 - that's just ridiculous!
And this beautiful mirrored vanity is only $280 - seriously!
We still also have lots of cushions and vintage housewares available..

We'll Miss You!
Well, after almost two years on James North, I have made the difficult decision to close Relish. I've had a wonderful time here at the shop, and have had the chance to work with some truly amazing designers and artists, but it's time I turned my focus to my real job - working for little Mr. Oscar.
I want to thank all of you who have supported Relish - I've made some great friends and been inspired by wonderful people I've met here.
And the big news is that this means we're having a HUGE STORE-WIDE CLOSING SALE over here at Relish, so come on over for some great deals!
But don't worry! The Relish website will still exist - just needs a little re-vamping - and so will this blog. These will keep you up-to-date with my new projects, like some soon-to-be-released paint products I'm working on with Tricia, Relish's resident artist.
And I'll still be selling some vintage items and refinished furniture through my Etsy store.
And don't forget we'll still be here for this week's Art Crawl, so be sure to stop by for some great deals!

More pieces from Rekindle Home!
Well I told you all about the new cushions we have at Relish, but you haven't seen the great furniture pieces yet that have arrived from Rekindle Home (based right here in Hamilton, by the way).
So here you go - some really functional and beautiful pieces that would be great for any room...

This cheery bench would be great in a front hall as a welcoming spot to sit and remove boots and shoes.
This adorable little houdstooth stool doubles as extra seating!
This is a great little storage bench (the seat is removable so you can stash remotes or any bits of clutter in here) has beautiful fabric on the seat.
Hope to see you soon!

My Re-refinished Table
Now I know you've all seen my lovely refinished drop-leaf table at Relish, but look at it now!!!
Now I have to admit that, while I certainly liked it, I didn't really love the whitewash finish I did on the top of this. So, this morning I came in early and sanded it completely off. Pretty productive Sunday morning, right?!
And now, it's freaking beautiful!
If I had any room at all in my house I would take it home immediately and not sell this at all. Now I love, love, love this piece. And the good news for you is that it's still at Relish and for sale. This will not be in stock for long, I promise!
Happy Holidays and a Wonderful New Year to you all!

New Vintage at Relish!
Well, we've not only got some great new vintage goodies at Relish, but we've also been busy re-arranging the place. In case you haven't made it down here in the last week or so, here's a little peek...
And doesn't Tricia's art look great in our newly arranged space?
Come on down to see us in person and say hello!

Phew, We Made It!
Another amazing Supercrawl! Honestly, what a great event. Such a great time for everyone, and great vibes all weekend.
Now that it's all done and I have a chance to relax, I thought I'd share some behind-the-scenes photos of what we were up to here at Relish all last week while we prepared....
And another great big thank you to Jackie, who gave us TONS of help on Friday afternoon with all our last-minute set-up. And by last-minute, I mean she basically arranged the whole store. Amazing!
We hope you had a great Supercrawl weekend, and we'll see you soon!

Tricia's just started re-painting the upstairs in grey.
This is the total upheaval Jackie was left with on Friday - and yep, that's a playpen in there. Oscar was supervising while we worked!
Work-in-progress, using Relish's very own paint!
Finished product, which some great new fabric.
New life for an old coffee table - super stylish!
Remember this old dresser?
Goodbye flower stencils - yay!
Infinately cooler. Isn't yellow and grey the BEST combo?!
I have to say a great big huge thank you to Tricia, Relish's resident artist, who did SO much work all week while we cleaned, painted, refurbished, and re-arranged. We even spent a few days working on our very own paint product (very exciting - more on this to come, so stay tuned!). Tricia was even kind enough to do some live painting during Supercrawl yesterday, and the finished piece was auctioned off in a silent auction. New Vintage
Here's a sneak peak at a great new vintage chandelier that's just arrived at Relish.... Check out the beautiful leaf details and the easy-to-clean high-gloss white finish. Yum!
I've also got a great desk in the works, but it's not quite done yet so you'll have to be patient.
And postings will be a little light for the next couple of weeks - we have a brand new one-week-old addition to the family and I'm still perfecting the art of getting these projects done between feedings, diapers, and a total lack of sleep! (But we're very, very happy!)
Hope to see you soon!

That's right, we've got not one, not two, but three awesome new vintage dressers in at Relish. Just wait until you see these. The blue ones in particular are out of this world!
I guarantee these won't last long, so get in here quick to check them out while they are still available!
And don't forget that tomorrow night is Art Crawl - it's going to be a great evening, and I hope to see you all down here soaking up the scene.

Refinishing with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint at Relish!
Ok time for the unveiling.... I've been working on a gorgeous drop-leaf table, and it is now all done, re-assembled and on display. Have a look!
This table is also very cute without the leaves attached....
For this table, I tried out a new product that becoming crazy-popular: Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. I LOVE this stuff. It coats wonderfully, is completely user-friendly (you can mix your own colours, water it down for a whitewash, thicken it, distress it, wax it, do multiple colour layers, you name it!), it's incredibly low VOC, and it turns out beautifully. And most importantly, there is no surface prep required!!! Yep, that's right, no sanding, no stripping. I think I'm in love.
Now here are the before and work-in-progress photos for this table....

Now here are the before and work-in-progress photos for this table....
the old, untouched table - kinda boring brown finish
old table with a couple of coats of whitewash on the top - this is the matte, unwaxed finish
And these are the legs - all painted up, but only the right-hand leg has been distressed. See how distressing brings out the detail? Gorgeous!
Now for this table, I did play around with the Annie Sloan colours I picked up. I started off my supplies with a can of Pure White, a can of Duck Egg Blue, and also a couple of sample pots of Antibes Green and Barcelona Orange (cause I just can't resist the neon colours!). The colour on this table is a mixture of White, Duck Egg, and Antibes Green - of course I don't remember the proportions, but I think it was something close to 1:1:1.
Stay tuned - coming up is a taste of all the really great new vintage pieces in Relish right now, and there are some serious gems!
