Flowers and More Flowers!
Somehow, despite weeks without rain and what I thought was a total lack of sunshine in our yard, we've got some beautiful flowers blooming in the garden right now, so I just had to share...
And look how lovely these beauties are! I'm not actually sure what they're called, but they were on sale at the garden centre, so I call that a success.
This is one of the few spots where the sun hits, so the lavender is very happy here.
Even a couple of daisies made it!
Now I knew I planted a couple of marigolds, but for some reason this one seems to be the most enormous marigold I've ever seen!
I can't explain it, I just have an irrational weakness for morning glories. Love them!

Back to the Garden...
Have I ever mentioned how much I love all those alleyways in the old parts of Hamilton?
I'm lucky enough to live in a neighbourhood that has these alleys between every single street - they're just so charming and quiet. This photo was taken just down the alleyway at the back of my house. One of my favourite things...
And back to the garden - as it turns out with clematis, the third year really IS the charm. This plant has looked VERY unhappy ever since I've planted it, but this year it just came right up and started growing and put out these stunning flowers. They are literally glowing they're so bright. Amazing!
And these yellow daisy-like flowers were some of the first blooms in my garden this year. So cheerful!

Relish Has Taken Over The Sidewalk!
In an attempt to spread some summer sunshine and cheer, I've started to take over the sidewalk here at Relish. I was able to finish painting and planting my flower box last week, despite the chilly weather....
....and (weather permitting) I've have some of my lovely furniture pieces spilling out onto the sidewalk.
Now doesn't that just look so nice and welcoming? So if you're walking by on James or on Cannon, swing by to say hello and admire the flowers!

Rainy Day Garden
Just before the long weekend, I was able to get my patio pots planted, and after only a week to settle in after being transplanted they've already started getting bigger!!
This is the first year I've put flowers in the pots - as the only sunny spot in the yard I used to keep trying to grow tomatoes. After getting only about 3 tomatoes off the two plants last year, I finally had to admit defeat. But these flowers are looking pretty damn cheerful!
And remember that post I did about Ilya and I pruning our wisteria vine? Well it's started blooming and it's BEAUTIFUL!
I mean, seriously, look at those flowers! And on top of being all huge and beautiful and old-fashioned looking, they smell divine. yum.
Stay tuned - more garden posts are coming. Everything is just exploding with growth and blooms!
